Bats in Ten Acres

It’s official! There are definately bats in Ten Acres and we are working on figuring out what we have now. It was an absolute pleasure to discover that we had bats right where we had placed two bat boxes earlier this year so its very exciting times!

We definately have the common pipistrelle bat but there is the potential for others in this area too as yet unconfirmed – but the bat detector suggested the possibility of sporana pipstrelle and Natteres Myotis and Noctule so we will continue investigating and checking back in to see if we can get a definate confirmation on any of these.

This also means that we will be able to do some bat walks soon so stay tuned!
